About Paterson Motorcycles

Established in Dalbeattie by James Paterson in 1947, just after the Second World War, Paterson Motorcycles originally sold and repaired the great marques of British motorcycles like Triumph, BSA, AJS and Norton.

Founded through his interest in racing motorcycles, the business has gone from strength to strength, and now, over fifty years later, is run by the third generation of the Paterson family.

Still located in Dalbeattie, but in much larger premises, the business now specialises in the sales and repair of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), as well as ancilliary products such as trailers, sprayers, ground care equipment and pressure washers.

A small but highly specialised team are in charge of the workshop side of the business, who have all been with the company for a minimum of fifteen years:

Michael Paterson: Sales and Spares
Andrew McFarlane: Sales and Technical
John Blackwood: Repairs and Technical
Anne McKie: Accounts and Management
Andrew McIntyre: Collections and Deliveries

James Paterson's business philosophy was simple: SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE. The same still applies today, with customers having their machines collected free of charge, with a loan machine dropped off to keep them going until the ATV is returned, within a few days, repaired or serviced.
